Introduction
The Journal of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology (PMI Journal), formerly known as APMIS, is a non-profit, peer-reviewed scientific journal. Since 2019, CAP Partner has acted as the journal’s strategic and operational partner, providing both day-to-day editorial management and long-term development support.
Challenges
Organizing DFCon 2024 presented new challenges and opportunities. The event brought together leading experts in wound care, vascular surgery, podiatry, and related fields, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. The 2024 edition was particularly significant, featuring the introduction of a Pre-Conference Workshop (Pre-Con), strategic partnerships, and achieving a record-breaking post-COVID attendance. With CAP Partner’s continued support, ALPS successfully navigated these complexities, strengthening its role as a leader in limb preservation and diabetic foot care.
Modern identity needed: The journal’s scope had broadened over the years, requiring a refreshed name, visual identity, and positioning to better reflect its interdisciplinary and international focus.
Complex editorial operations: Managing manuscript submissions, coordinating peer reviews, and liaising with authors and publishers required a more structured and professional editorial support setup.
Visibility in a competitive landscape: Increasing global outreach and attracting high-quality submissions were essential to maintain the journal’s relevance and scientific standing.
Sustainable development: Beyond operational needs, the journal sought a strategic partner who could support its long-term development into a more modern, efficient, and impactful publication.
