A long-term partnership built on trust, continuity and growth

How CAP Partner evolved from conference organiser to full association management partner for EBJIS – supporting the society 365 days a year.

Introduction

EBJIS established in 1982 is a leading European medical society dedicated to advancing knowledge, research and clinical practice in bone and joint infection. The society brings together experts from across Europe and beyond through education, research collaboration, and its annual scientific meeting.

Where it all began: delivering complex scientific meetings

From the outset, CAP Partner supported the society as conference organiser, ensuring high-quality scientific meetings delivered smoothly, efficiently and in line with the society’s ambitions.

This first phase laid the foundation for a deeper partnership. By working closely with the EBJIS board, committees and faculty, CAP Partner developed a strong understanding of the society’s culture, governance and specific requirements.

Evolution to Core Professional Conference Organiser (PCO)

As the collaboration matured, CAP Partner became EBJIS’ core PCO, supporting the society’s annual meetings over multiple years and across different European destinations. This long-term PCO model brings a decisive advantage: EBJIS can organise its annual meeting anywhere in Europe without losing momentum, knowledge or quality.

Accessibility all over Europe

The long-term PCO model brings a decisive advantage: EBJIS can organise its annual meeting anywhere in Europe without losing momentum, knowledge or quality.

Benefits of consistency

Instead of starting from scratch each year with a new organiser, CAP Partner ensures:

  • continuity in processes and standards
  • retention of institutional knowledge
  • strong relationships with venues, suppliers and sponsors
  • consistent participant experience year after year

Financial sustainability

CAP Partner actively supports EBJIS’ financial sustainability by managing and developing conference sponsorships and exhibitions as part of an integrated funding strategy.

“Working with the team at CAP Partner brought our organisation to the next level. Having one dedicated partner who understands our society inside and out has transformed the way we operate – not just for our annual meeting, but throughout the entire year.”

–Prof. Dr. Martin Clauss, University Hospital Basel, Switzerland, EBJIS President 2025-2027

This includes:

  • Sponsorship and exhibition strategy
  • Industry partner coordination
  • Contracting and financial transparency
  • Alignment between scientific integrity and commercial support

By integrating fundraising with conference and association activities, CAP Partner helps EBJIS secure the resources needed to support growth, education and new initiatives.

CAP Partner becomes EBJIS's association manager – 365 days a year

In 2023, the partnership reached a new milestone when CAP Partner became EBJIS’ Association Manager. This marked a fundamental shift: from supporting a single annual event to being embedded in the daily life of the society. Today, CAP Partner supports EBJIS throughout the entire year, including:

  • membership management
  • communications
  • committee and board meetings
  • website and social media management
  • webinars and educational activities
  • coordination with stakeholders and sponsors

CAP Partner is now a central operational partner, ensuring continuity, structure and professional support across all society activities.

This integrated model creates powerful synergies:

  • seamless collaboration between event, association and communication teams
  • faster decision-making and clearer governance
  • consistent messaging across events, digital channels and member communication
  • stronger sponsor relations and more effective fundraising for the annual meeting.

+85% growth in delegate attendance since 2022.

+85% increase in abstract submissions since 2022.

+38% growth in membership since 2022.

+30% growth in social media activity since 2022.

The result: A partnership built for the long term

The EBJIS–CAP Partner collaboration demonstrates the value of long-term partnership over short-term delivery. By combining strategic continuity, deep organisational knowledge and fully integrated services, CAP Partner helps EBJIS focus on what matters most: advancing science, education and collaboration in bone and joint infection.

One unified digital platform

A key milestone in strengthening EBJIS’ communication and brand was the launch of a new integrated website, consolidating:

  • Society activities
  • Membership information
  • Committees and governance
  • The Annual Meeting

Previously managed across separate platforms, this integration created a single, unified digital presence.

Social media output

In 2025, EBJIS significantly enhanced its communications output:

  • Social media activity increased by over 30%
  • Greater use of multimedia and engagement-driven content
  • Stronger, more consistent calls to action

By aligning communication across Annual Meeting promotion, membership, and new initiatives, CAP Partner helped increase visibility—supporting both conference participation and year-round engagement.

The advantage of integration

By combining Professional Conference Organisation and Association Management under one roof, CAP Partner supports:

a unified brand and digital presence, scalable scientific growth, stronger governance support, coordinated communication, and sustainable development.
